Petite-Friendly Sézane Finds for Spring and Summer

Sézane continues to be one of the most-loved brands on this blog, so I’m excited to share another round of try-ons, this time focusing on petite-friendly pieces for spring and summer. The French label has built a cult following with its effortlessly chic aesthetic, thoughtful fabrics, and commitment to sustainability—and it’s easy to see why pieces sell out so quickly.

Their Archive Sale launched over the weekend, and as always, items disappeared in record time. (Note: sale items are final sale.) For regular-priced pieces, I usually receive my orders within a week, with free, easy returns and a pre-paid label included in every package.

Recently, I partnered with Sézane on Instagram, which gave me the chance to select pieces to test and review. Many of you asked for details on sizing, fit, and petite-friendliness, so here’s a breakdown of my current favorites—and a few restocked gems worth noting.

    The Bobby Trench Coat

If you missed out earlier this year, good news: the Bobby trench coat has been restocked. It’s essentially the shorter sibling of the beloved Clyde trench, with the same water-resistant cotton and plaid lining but in a more petite-friendly cut.

Fit Notes: The Bobby, like the Clyde, runs oversized. I own the Clyde in size 0, but the Bobby starts at size 2, which translates into a loose, swingy fit on me. It works as a raincoat and layers easily, but petites should expect a relaxed silhouette rather than a tailored one.

    The Pippa Dress

The Pippa dress is one of Sézane’s most iconic pieces, so I finally tried both the long and short versions. The organic cotton fabric has a touch of stretch, and the clever knot detail at the waist makes it flattering for those of us without perfectly flat stomachs.

Fit Notes: In black, the dress starts at XXS (a great fit for me), while other colors start at XS. The short version sits a few inches above my knees, while the long version grazes my ankles with a chic side slit. Petites may prefer the shorter cut, but personally, I love the drama of the longer length.

    The Rome Shorts

I’ve owned a floral pair of Rome shorts for years and still adore the cut. They’re high-waisted with a slightly paper-bag effect, complete with pleats, angled pockets, and a matching belt. This season’s denim versions are just as charming—though keep in mind the fabric is on the thicker side.

Fit Notes: I tried size 2 (EUR 34), which measures 13″ across the waist with a 12″ rise and 3.5″ inseam. They fit slightly loose, but the belt helps. In general, Sézane bottoms run a touch smaller than American sizing.

    The Colette Marinière

Sézane’s marinière tops are true wardrobe staples. Made from sturdy organic cotton, they’re somewhere between a tee and a sweatshirt, with charming button details at the shoulder. I often wear mine draped over my shoulders or layered in cooler weather.

Fit Notes: The XXS gives me a boxy, relaxed look, perfect for tossing on with jeans or shorts. You can also add a custom monogram for a personalized touch.

    The Nele Blouse

The Nele blouse has become my most-worn Sézane top. Light, airy, and detailed with subtle embroidery, it’s perfect for warm days. Though semi-sheer, I wear it with a skin-toned bra and have no issues.

Fit Notes: I’m wearing size 2 (EUR 34), which fits like an XS. The cut is wide through the torso and sleeves, but a quick steam helps the fabric drape beautifully. It’s easy to style tucked, half-tucked, or untucked.

    The Salie Dress

I first discovered the Salie dress in Paris last year, and I’m thrilled it’s back in stock. It’s one of the most petite-friendly Sézane dresses I’ve tried, thanks to its fitted bodice, high waistline, and twirl-ready skirt. Made from linen with a stretch panel and zipper at the back, it’s comfortable while still feeling tailored.

Fit Notes: Size 2 fits like a US 0 and is slightly loose on me, which works since the cut is more structured.

    The Amance Cardigan

The Amance cardigan is one of those quiet stars in my wardrobe—perfect for dinners with friends or evenings at home when you want to feel put-together. Its blousy sleeves and roomy fit look lovely cuffed, and it layers beautifully whether worn open, closed, or tucked in.

Fit Notes: I wear the XXS, which still has a generous, relaxed fit.

    The Bianca Blouse

If the Nele blouse is breezy and casual, the Bianca blouse is its dressier cousin. Slimmer in cut, with delicate lace detailing, it’s a versatile piece I wear year-round. It pairs equally well with tailored trousers, denim, or skirts.

Fit Notes: I wear size 0, which fits perfectly since the fabric doesn’t stretch. The sleeves hit just above the wrist for a polished finish.

    Final Thoughts

Sézane has a knack for creating pieces that feel timeless yet fresh, and many of their designs work surprisingly well for petites when you know what to look for. While sizing can run a little different from American brands, the brand’s attention to fabric, detail, and fit makes it worth the effort.

If you’re building out your spring and summer wardrobe, I recommend starting with one of the restocked staples like the Bobby trench or Pippa dress, then adding a few versatile blouses or cardigans. And as always, shop fast—Sézane favorites don’t stay in stock for long.
